Why People Think Botox Is Worth The Money

By Marla Nordina

In these times of great scrutiny over physical appearances, a first impression is more important than ever. We all wish to look younger than we are, and are willing to go to great lengths to regain our youth. Wrinkles and lines on the face are an unsightly and unwelcome sign of ageing, and many people are turning to the idea of getting injections of botox in order to help renew skin that is getting older looking.

Years ago, the only option was to have plastic surgery, and this is a much more invasive procedure, but many people went through with it anyway. The healing process from such an operation can go on for weeks. Sometimes it could take more than a month to have the full benefit to be clear. But that era has now started to fade away, thanks to botox. In a report that was published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2012, there was a marked increase in the use of minimally invasive cosmetic procedures such as botox injection, while there was a decline in the total number of cosmetic surgeries performed.

Why is this?

Well, for the middle class Jane Doe, botox injections can still bring out the beauty in them without emptying the bank account. Complex cosmetic surgeries are just too expensive these days, and it comes as no surprise that the cheaper, safe and extremely effective botox injections are becoming more and more popular.

People who are in the higher social class are obviously more likely to have botox treatments, and this is helping to fuel a wider acceptance for the procedure. Media loves to print stories about famous people who appear to have had botox treatments.

How did botox get to be so mainstream?

It's safe to say that botox treatments are a huge part of modern cosmetic surgery clinics. The effective results on wrinkles and lines, coupled with the great speed and ease of the treatments as it's an out-patient procedure makes this a popular choice among patients. These type of injections are being used now for conditions such as spastic paraplegias, blepharospasms, and muscle spasms, as well as for cosmetic purposes.

Months later, the effects of these procedures are still quite noticeable. It has a positive effect on the confidence of the person, and there is a high chance that they would recommend it to a friend or family member.

Botox makes such a huge difference in the lives of those who get the treatments that they are visibly happier and feel more confident, and because of this, more and more people are giving botox a try.
